This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

December 22

Today's Reading: John 1:9-14

It's really easy to overlook the significance of what John writes here. Unfortunately, we often hear people say something like, "After all, we're all God's children". But that just isn't true. Only those who are willing to "receive" Jesus and "believe in His name" become God's children.

As we've talked about often before, the kind of "belief" that John writes about in his gospel is more that just intellectual assent to a set of facts. It means the kind of trust that results in a change in the way we live our lives. And to "receive" Jesus means that we are willing to make Him the Lord of our lives and submit our lives to His control. If you've never done that, don't wait - do it today. We're here to help you in that process in any way we can.
