Our Beliefs

  • In essential beliefs, we are to have unity (Ephesians 4:4-6). These core beliefs are clearly spelled out in the Bible. For a more detailed explanation of those beliefs, read our Statement of Faith
  • In non-essential beliefs we have liberty. We understand that each person has personal preferences and convictions regarding conduct and lifestyle that are not specifically addressed in the Bible. Under grace, we give each person liberty to make those choices as long as they don’t cause another member of the body to violate his or her conscience (1 Corinthians 10:23-33) or stumble in his or her walk with Jesus (Romans 14:13-23)
  • In all our beliefs, we show love (1 Corinthians 13:2)

We believe:

  • The Bible is God’s divinely inspired written revelation to man
  • In One true and living God existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • That every person is a sinner by nature and by choice and is therefore spiritually dead and in need of a Savior
  • That salvation is solely a result of the operation of God’s grace, extended to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and not on the basis of human merit or works
  • That all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord are immediately forgiven of their sins and become a part of the body of Christ, the church
  • That every member of the church has direct access into God’s presence without the need for a human mediator
  • In the bodily resurrection of the saved into the resurrection of life and the unsaved into the resurrection of judgment
  • In the ordinances of baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper
  • That marriage is the sacred union of one man and one woman in an exclusive covenant commitment for their joint lifetime
