Today's Reading: John 1:6-8, 15
John's role was to testify to Jesus, the light of the world. Even though God used him mightily, he understood his role and acknowledged that Jesus was far superior to him.
If you think about it, that is the same role God has given us. Fortunately we don't have to dress in camel hair and eat locusts to do that. But each of of us who have seen the light have a responsibility to share that life with others. And the Christmas season often opens up some possibilities to do that which we don't find the rest of the year. A simple way to do that is to invite family members or friends to our Christmas Eve service.
