I want to focus on what this passage teaches us about evangelism. These shepherds weren't well educated. They hadn't been to seminary and probably didn't attend the synagogue each week. But when they encountered Jesus, it was their natural response to go and tell others about their experience. That is something all of us ought to be able to do and desire to do. It is certainly wise to be prepared to share our faith by knowing a few key verses that will allow us to explain the gospel. But what is more important is that we take advantage of the opportunities God brings into our lives to share how Jesus has changed us.
