Today's Reading: Psalm 93:1-5
Read the passage and answer these two questions:
My observations from Psalm 90:
Like most of the Psalms we have been reading, this one authored by Moses contains a number of God's attributes. But since it hasn't come p as frequently as some of the other ones, I'm going to focus this morning on the idea that God is eternal. He is not bound by time or space and He has always existed and will always continue to exist.
Since we are made in God's image, that means that our life here on earth is only a tiny blip compared to the eternal lives that we have. Although our physical existence began at birth, there is a sense in which our lives actually began before that. Look at what God said to the prophet Jeremiah:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
(Jeremiah 1:5 ESV)
And our lives will continue for eternity after we die -either in the presence of God or separated from Him is a place of horrible torment. For me, that idea makes me want to make the most of every day God gives me here on earth.
Read the passage and answer these two questions:
- What doe this passage teach me about God and His attributes?
- How should that understanding about the nature of God impact the way that I live my life?
