Today's Reading: Psalm 9:1-20
Read the passage and answer these two questions:
My observations from Psalm 8:
Mary and I really enjoy using our telescope to view the immenseness of God's creation. But even with our telescope we can only see a small fraction of all that God has created. In this Psalm, David reminds us of the creative power of God and the wonder of all He has created. That creation, including us, is designed to point people to Him and bring Him glory.
We also see here that God has tasked man with stewarding that creation. That is a huge responsibility that none of us should take lightly. While it is certainly true that in our culture some have gone to the extreme of worshiping the creation, rather than the Creator (see Romans 1:25), we don't want to go to the other extreme and not do what we can to preserve and care for that which God has created.
Read the passage and answer these two questions:
- What doe this passage teach me about God and His attributes?
- How should that understanding about the nature of God impact the way that I live my life?
