Today's Reading: Isaiah 65:1-25
Here we see that God's true servants are those who trust in and worship Him faithfully. In Romans 10, Paul quotes from this chapter to prove that God always intended to provide salvation for all, not just Israel.
We see here that God always preserves a remnant of those who are declared righteous because of their faith in Him. For them, the Day of the Lord is a time of rejoicing because it means that Jesus will take His rightful place on the throne and rule with complete justice. There is going to be new heavens and a new earth in which God's creation will be restored to its original paradise.
But for those who reject God, the Day of the Lord will be a time of horrible judgment. Being a Jew or attending church won't save anyone from that terrible fate. Only faith in Jesus can do that.
