Today's Reading: Jeremiah 33:1-26
Today we begin the last section of this Bible reading plan.
In conjunction with the coming of a deliverer, the Old Testament prophets also envision a new covenant, the return of God’s presence, the outpouring of the Spirit, the engrafting of the Gentiles (fulfilling the Abrahamic promise), cosmic renewal, and resurrection in the Day of the Lord
In this chapter we see that God is not done with Israel yet. Even though they rejected Him time after time, He promises to be faithful to the covenant He made with David. One important aspect of the Day of the Lord is that God is going to restore both Israel and Judah and reunite them into one kingdom who will be ruled over by the Messiah, who is a descendent of David. But as we will see later in this section, those Israelites will be "saved" the same way we are - through faith in Jesus.
