Today's Reading: Matthew 21:1-46
This is a long chapter, but we're going to focus on verses 1-10. In that section, we see Jesus fulfilling the prophecy from Zechariah that we read a couple days ago.
While most of the Jews of that day expected the Messiah to come as a conquering ruler, Jesus instead rode into Jerusalem on the most humble form of transportation - a donkey. Unfortunately, may of the same people who were shouting praises to Jesu that day would turn against Him only a few days later when He didn't live up to their expectations.
We need to guard against doing that in our lives. We need to make sure that we aren't putting Jesus into a "box" of our own making and then turn against Him when He doesn't do what we want Him to do for us.
