Today's Reading: Psalm 22:1-31
We don't know exactly when David wrote this Psalm. We do know that he faced danger and opposition both before and during his reign as king. David turns to God in prayer during that time and by the end of the psalm, he ends with a song of praise to God for rescuing him.
This Psalm is also a Messianic Psalm that points ahead to Jesus. In fact , Jesus quotes from verse 1 while hanging on the cross. As you read through this Psalm, note all the references to Jesus, and especially to His crucifixion.
