This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

April 3

Today's Reading: Luke 22:1-71

This is a long chapter, but we're going to focus on verses 14-23 today.

Back in the book of Exodus, the "Old Covenant" was sealed when Moses took some of the blood from the animal sacrifice and threw it on the people (Exodus 24:8). The new covenant is also going to be sealed with blood, but not the blood of animals, but the blood of Jesus. As the disciples observe the Passover meal with Jesus, Jesus uses the wine as a picture of how He is going to seal this new covenant with His blood.

We need to make sure we never forget the price that Jesus paid to secure our salvation. On April 16, we'll be remembering that great gift as we observe the Lord's Supper. You'll want to make sure to join us for that observance.
