Today's Reading: Mark 10:1-52
We're going to focus on the parts of this chapter where Jesus reaffirms the Law.
Although many claim that Jesus never addresses the issue of homosexuality, in verses 1-11, He clearly affirms the Biblical model for marriage: one man married to one woman for a lifetime.
Then in the account of the rich young ruler in verses 17-31, Jesus commends the young man for following the Ten Commandments - with one exception, the command against covetousness. Jesus makes it clear that no one is capable of being righteous on our own because even though we may obey most of the law, if we fail to obey even one law, we will fall short of God's standard. That is why Jesus is the only way to God. Are you trusting in Him or in your own righteousness?
