When I preached on this passage a few weeks ago I highlighted the contrast between fearing the Egyptians and fearing the Lord. It wasn't until the people of Israel got their eyes off their circumstances and focused on God that they were able to do what God had called them to do.

Is there something in your life that causes you to fear? The antidote is to quit focusing on your circumstances and remember God's faithfulness. While God never promises a life that is free from difficulties, He does promise to go with us as we experience tough times.
