December 31
Today’s Reading: Luke 2:36-38; Psalm 71:15-18; Zephaniah 3:9-13; Matthew 28:16-20
Well, we’ve done it! Hopefully you have participated all year in our devotionals. We spent most of the year doing a harmony of the Gospels, then all of December recounting the story of the birth of the Savior. We also hope that you will join us for our next reading plan, which is focused around the Bible’s redemptive history that we’ll begin on Monday, January 2nd.
In today’s reading, Anna, like Simeon was waiting for the Lord, and she could now rejoice as He had arrived. Her response should be a model for us, one of worship and witness. Once again, we see that she begins her response with thanksgiving, then she continues with sharing this with everyone she came in contact with. So today, and the days that follow, will you worship and witness what you’ve experienced in the Lord Jesus?
