Today’s Reading: Luke 2:10; Psalm 90:14-17; Isaiah 61:1-3; Titus 2:11-14
I love that all throughout the Scriptures when an angel appears, their first words are “do not fear” or “fear not.” In yesterday's passage, we saw that the shepherds were filled with great fear, and here we see that the angels were bringing a message – another task of the angel, a messenger – of good news. This good news was of course the arrival of the Savior, the One who would bless the whole world. Sadly, however, although the message of salvation is available for all to hear, many will not respond. Since we don’t know who is called to be saved, and who is not, we must share this message with all people, just as the angels did. I always think of Romans 10 where Paul reminds us that no one will come to faith without hearing the Good News, so we must tell others about Him. Will you do that today?
