This Sunday's message: The Song of Zechariah

December 12

Today’s Reading: Luke 1:54-55; Genesis 12:1-3; Psalm 89:29-37; Acts 3:19-26
This morning’s reading is a reminder of God’s promises, and His fulfillment of those promises in the Person of Jesus Christ. At this point in history, it would have been easy for Israel to have believed that the Lord had deserted them. It had been about 400 years since the prophecy in Malachi to this moment, recorded for us in Luke’s Gospel. Mary realizes that God was fulfilling His promises and praises Him for it. These were dark times for Israel, but the Light of the World would soon come. Just like today, we are lights in darkness as we wait for the Lord to return for us. So, we, like Mary, should remember His promise to return, and remember the words from Mary’s Song, allowing us to stop and reflect, resulting in our praise. How can you remember His promises today?
