Today’s Reading: Luke 1:43; Ruth 2:8-13; Psalm 69:30-33; Philippians 2:1-4

Elizabeth displays a picture of respect and honor in this portion of her song. We see that she humbly accepted that God was working in Mary, and she treated Mary with that respect and dignity that she deserved. This is a great lesson for us. When others are in our presence, our focus should be them, not ourselves. Much too often do we concern ourselves more with our own comfort or preferences, but Elizabeth proves to be a great example for us. Although Elizabeth focused on Mary, she knew that this story and this visit was not about either of them, but about the coming of the Lord Jesus. Where is your attention this season?
