Isaiah 25: “Wonderful Things”

Isaiah 25: “Wonderful Things”

Isaiah offers us some hope in this chapter. Much needed after reading about the judgements against the nations. What is interesting too is that the chapter begins with Isaiah’s own response, praise. He is modeling the response that the people needed as well as for the reader today. How fitting as well that even through all of this, Isaiah says that the Lord has done wonderful things. In the hardest of days, do we say “the Lord has done wonderful things?” We see here that the Lord will rebuild and that the people and the nations will fear (revere) the Lord. Shelter and comfort will be found in the Lord. Worship will return in the land. What a great chapter. All of the turmoil will end. The Lord still reigns. The Lord still provides refuge and salvation. Are we seeing the Lord through the density of our problems today, or are we just seeing the problems? It is critical that we see the Lord as larger than all the ups and downs in our life. Through that faith, we too can say, “the Lord has done wonderful things!”
